Caroline Garner

I like to create pieces that stand out and are unique. My work contains a lot of texture which I create by collaging torn paper and cardboard. In every piece there is a subconscious message, that is why art is the best therapy.

Caroline Garner is in her first year at college. She is taking courses at Richland to transfer either to the University of North Texas or St. Edwards University. She is has not made up her mind concerning a major, but has decided to pursue art.

Janet

Janet is a watercolor artist who paints places and people with whom she feels an emotional connection. Much of her source material is derived from newspaper clippings and family photographs. Janet often reinterprets her subject matter to express her ideas or feelings. Landscape, portraiture and the beauty, plight and humanity of heroic women are recurring genres and themes in her work.

Barry

Self Portrait

I love to take landscapes and make them abstract. I do the same with portraits. The magic is color and water!

Barry was born and grew-up in Colorado. He attended the University of Colorado. He retired from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School.

Louis Ceballos

Fall Colors

I am retired after 38 years as an engineer. I spent 30 years in the Natural Gas conditioning business and 8 years in telecommunications. After retirement I decided to peruse two of my life long loves, art and music. I have been taking watercolor painting and guitar classes for the past 3 semesters.

Stephanie

I have always loved sunrises and sunsets. I chose to create a series based on different skies from Texas. I used a variety of photographs as reference. Texas produces some amazing skies. My skies turned out to be a little more abstract and saturated than the original scene, but in the end I think they are more expressive of my feelings.

Stephanie was born in 1980 in Sherman, TX. She has lived in Texas for 30 years. Stephanie has always had an interest in art. In High School she began to explore art more in depth. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Austin College in 2003. Stephanie has painted off and on for years. She has recently decided to teach art and is currently working on her teaching certificate.
